One kind of belongingthat lasts a lifetime

Visit Highfield School

We warmly invite you to join us for an Open Morning at Highfield School or arrange one of our personalised Highfield School tours. Choosing the right school for your child is a big decision, and there is no better way to get a real feel for our community than by visiting in person.

At our Open Day at Highfield School, you will have the opportunity to meet our Head, speak with inspiring teachers, and see first-hand how we nurture curious, confident young minds. While our excellent facilities and beautiful South Downs grounds will certainly impress, it is the warmth of our people and the happiness of our pupils that make Highfield truly special.

A visit is the best way to experience the energy of our classrooms, the sense of belonging among our families, and the welcoming atmosphere your child could soon be part of. We would love to welcome you and help you picture your child thriving at Highfield School.

We had a real sense of joy when we visited the school. The teachers and pupils really impressed us and we felt it was exactly the environment we wanted our children to be educated in.

What To Expect From Your Highfield School Visit

Every visit to Highfield School is personal to your family. Before you arrive, our Admissions Registrar will call you to find out more about your child, your priorities and anything you would particularly like to see during your time with us. This helps us make your Open Morning at Highfield School, personalised tour, or Head’s video call as relevant and useful as possible.

When you visit Highfield School, you will discover an independent co-educational day and boarding school for children aged 2–13, set in 175 acres of stunning grounds within the South Downs National Park in Liphook. Families join us from across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey, as well as from across the UK and internationally, and a visit is the ideal way to understand whether Highfield could be the right fit for your child.

During your Open Day at Highfield School, you will experience the strength and breadth of our curriculum, our first-class teaching and focus on essential skills, and our commitment to outstanding pastoral care. You will also see how our beautiful South Downs setting supports outdoor learning, environmental awareness and the development of well-rounded, empathetic and caring young people.

You will have the opportunity to meet the Head at Highfield School, speak with passionate teachers, and ask questions about the areas that matter most to your family. Whether you are interested in Nursery, Pre-Prep, Prep, Year 7 entry or boarding, we will make sure your visit gives you the information you need.

A visit is also the best way to see how Highfield prepares children for the next stage of their education. Our pupils move on to some of the leading senior schools in the country at the end of Year 8, including Marlborough College, Canford School, Wellington College, Eton College, Bryanston School, Charterhouse School and Winchester College. Seeing our classrooms, grounds and community in action will help you picture your child thriving here.

How To Prepare For Your Highfield School Visit

There is nothing formal you need to do before you visit Highfield School, but a little preparation can help you make the most of your Open Morning or personalised tour.

Before your visit, think about the questions that matter most to your family. Letting us know your priorities in advance allows us to tailor your visit and ensure the most relevant members of staff are available to speak with you.

It also helps to tell us a little about your child. Sharing their interests, personality and any particular needs enables us to shape a visit around them. If you are considering boarding, we can include time to see the boarding facilities and speak with boarding staff. If you are exploring Year 7 entry, we can explain how Highfield prepares children for senior school at the end of Year 8 and why staying at prep school can be a valuable alternative to moving on at 11.

We encourage children to join their parents for an Open Day at Highfield School or personal tour. There is no need for them to prepare or dress formally; comfortable clothes and sensible shoes are ideal, particularly if you would like to explore our extensive grounds in the South Downs National Park. Children are welcome to ask questions too, and many families find that seeing the school through their child’s eyes is one of the most valuable parts of the visit.

Finally, allow enough time to enjoy the experience. A visit is not simply about seeing facilities; it is about meeting people, watching children learn and play, and getting a feel for the warmth, energy and sense of belonging that make Highfield special. We look forward to welcoming your family to Highfield School.
